Dickens on the Strand, an annual Victorian-era festival is celebrating 50 years this weekend December, 1-3 in Galveston, Texas. This ever popular festival marks the beginning of the Christmas holiday season on the island while showcasing the rich Victorian cultural heritage. Dickens on the Strand is a fun nostalgic event based on the popular novel, A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens features street performances, live entertainment, food, shopping and much more.

dress up in Victorian era clothing. Clothing rental services are available on the festival grounds for those who want to participate or make a statement. It's a great way to immerse yourself in the Victorian atmosphere and experience the Victorian way of life. Attendees in costume receive a 50% discount at that gate.
Food: Food at Dickens on the Strand is an affair to remember. From traditional British fish and chips to mouthwatering turkey legs, visitors can sample a range of dishes that evoke the holiday season. Additionally, there are several popular restaurants located on the Strand inside and just adjacent to the holiday festival.
