Ahoy, matey! Sail down to the Strand and stop in at “A Pirate’s Life – Pirate’s Plunder” for a unique blend of swashbuckling swag, from T-shirts, shot glasses and mugs, to swords, replica flintlocks, belts, baldrics, and garb; everything an aspiring buccaneer needs to live A Pirate’s Life!
As one would expect from sailors of the seven seas, perusers of this piratical plunder will find objects pillaged - er, imported – from around the globe, with merchandise from India, Thailand, Germany, France, England, Spain and more. The shop also carries handcrafted items from local artisans, as well as toys, nautical equipment, and coastal themed décor.
For the reenactor, A Pirate’s Life strives to meet the demand of those who want garb better than a Halloween costume, yet more affordable than custom made, period
accurate pieces, where one coat may cost an arm or a leg. (Now you know why there are so many peg legs and hooks out there!)
Owner Mark Iacampo has participated in Historical Reenactments for nearly a quarte of a century, and has sailed on tall ships during cannon battles, and stormed castles in Europe in 60 pounds of armor. He has fought with swords competitively on four continents, and a dozen countries. Now, he’s brought his passion for pirates to Galveston.
A Pirate’s Life – Pirate’s Plunder is located at 2021 Strand, Suite 2. They are open Tues – Thurs 11:30 – 5pm, Fri-Sat 11:30 – 6pm, and
Sunday Noon – 5pm. Stop in and say, “Aaarrrrr!”
